My 2 ½ hour lull
It’s not uncommon here in Doha for offices to close at 12 or 1 pm and open again from 3 pm to 6 pm.
And what does an auditor do with the vacant time in case he’s assigned to such jobs?
Go home maybe? Sleep for a few hours? Go back at the office?
Yeah, good ideas to waste those 3 hour lulls.
For me, being a confessed shopaholic, I’de rather spend that time window shopping in the mall, darting through throve of shoppers and lazy bodies letting time pass by.
My client for the past week actually maintains office at City Center, Doha, purportedly the biggest mall in Qatar. So I guess it made window shopping a more viable choice.

It’s also a good thing that Starbucks has an outlet in this mall. After a tiring two hour stroll, I can sit back and relax on their comfy sofas, with a venti-white chocolate mocha on hand, as I await resumption of work.

As I write this blog, oblivious of all those truant young Qatari ladies, sporting those black pieces of clothing which covers their face, of all those boisterous white garbed Qatari males, and kababayans having a sip, I realize how laid back life in Doha is. And it’s really fun.
What a life.
