Tax kalas, movies, music and lyrics

After last week’s bitching about anything and everything, I feel a little more slacken this past few days. Been able to sleep a little longer and deeper, go to the gym a bit more regularly, and spend more time on the internet (it would have been less if we had a faster internet connection, hahaha).

Work’s been a breeze lately, not entirely because there’s nothing more to do, it’s just that I’ve been able to focus more on the job on hand unlike the past few weeks wherein my mind is so preoccupied that I’m no longer functioning as I have to.

Tax season just ended last week here in Doha, so that means a tad less clients and nuances to endure.

After almost a year of not being able to watch a movie on a regular basis, I’m now able to do so, thanks to downloaded flicks from my officemates and a codec so I can play it on my laptop.

In just two days I was able to finish 3 movies and maybe another one after I finish writing this blog. Watched 300, Rocky and Music and lyrics. Finally, was able to watch these movies, been aching to watch them but haven’t found the time nor the company to do so, watching a movie by your lonesome sounds a bit lame at my age.

300 is great, fight scenes, blood and gore and a whole lot more. Rocky is, well it’s Rocky. What’s not to love on this one, people really dig the underdog, plus there were really great lines specially that scene with his son outside his restaurant. Truly inspiring, with an equally remarkable, memorable and inner chord striking musical score.

Loved Music and Lyrics, and I think it will absolutely rank high up on my all time favorite feel good movies, but probably not taking over Wedding singer at the top of the my chart.

I missed writing and composing songs, though I wasn’t really able to finalize anything except one, plus I’m not really good at it. It’s really fun just toying with your guitar and conjuring whatever music and lyrics just pop up on your head. I wish I would have written some of them on something more indelible than my memory, that way I can fix them and maybe make a good song out of those crap.

Anyway, I was able to save one, I wrote this way back my college days, though I’ve lost the record I made on my old laptop. I would have love sharing it with you. Here it is, not much, but I guess it’s fairly decent:

Free
By Marky

Line 1:

Stupid things I’ve done before,
on your back you lift and bore,
washed me with your blood and tears,
took away my doubts and fears,

Line 2:

Thank you God for saving me,
now I know I’m truly free,
put away this heavy chains,
along with it my sins and pains,

Refrain:

In this world you came for me,
that I might live abundantly,
a miry clay you came and mold,
dont let go and just hold,

Chorus:

Coz you Oh Lord have made me free,
your Son, you gave up graciously,
your grace and love just flows in me,
coz you Oh Lord have made me free

That’s it for now. Ciao.
