Security over at Digiprint

It has been more than 2 years since I first stumbled upon the website of Digiprint, a photo printing company, an affiliate of LBC (an express delivery service in the Philippines) with so many branches across the metro and the Philippines. It seems where there is an LBC branch, there is Digiprint.

But anyway, back to the topic, it has been more than two years, and it seems that there’s not much been an improvement in the site. Anywhere you click, the resulting url in the browser address bar stil says www.digiprint.com.ph. I don’t know what kind of software it uses, but it just appears to be buggy for me.

Moreover, they have this service just like a photo sharing site, wherein if you want you can have your pictures already hosted in their site printed and delivered right away at your doorsteps anywhere in the Philippines without a charge (for the delivery of course, the photo printing is another story). Of course I didn’t try that service. I’m not sure but I guess they accept credit card, but am I willing to avail of that?

I think not. First of all, it’s because of their buggy website, one that appears to hide something. And while you’re logging in, the security icon in whichever browser you use does not appear. It could only mean that your password might not be protected or encrypted from possible intruders and leechers.

What’s more? Their website is not accessible by merely typing “digiprint.com.ph” in the browser address bar. You need to always include the “www” just like in the case of Philippine government official websites. They couldn’t at least redirect it to the “no www” one. Come on, it’s 2008! Are you trying to point out to me the technology of the 90’s?
